The board of trustees of Bandari FC has asked the Head coach Bernard Mwalala to step aside due to the poor performance of the club recently.

Mwalala has been with Bandari Fc since mid-2018 and has taken the team a step further by winning 2018-2019 FKF Cup and finished as KPL runners up in the past two seasons.

Twahir Muhiddin has been appointed as the new Bandari Fc head coach on an interim basis following Mwalala’s departure.

Mwalala has in the past been the head coach of Nzoia Sugar and has also been linked with Yanga Fc based in Tnanzania.

In a statement, Mwalala confirmed his departure and here is what he had to say:

” I can confirm that i have parted ways ways with Bandari Football Club. I want to take this opportunity to thank the Bandari Football club management for the opportunity they offered me. Not many teams can trust a young coach but they trusted me with the coaching role at the club.

“Together we built a strong team that won FKF shield and twice managed to finish in the second position in the league which is the best in the club’s history. I want to thank the players, my coaching staff, the fans and everyone associated with the club. We achieved great things together and i leave with my head held high.

“As I depart, I wish the Bandari fraternity best of luck,”
