Kenya Cup returnees Kisumu pulled off the upset of the weekend, stopping multiple Kenya Cup champions Nondescripts 19-17 in matchday action at the Mamboleo Showground in Kisumu City on Saturday 2 November 2019.

Kisumu, crushed 89-0 last weekend by Kabras, led 12-7 at the interval courtesy of tries from veteran Frontrow Jaycox Mwavali and winger Oscar Othonje with Walter Mikanga drilling home a conversion. Former Kisumu player Fidel Oloo landed an unconverted try.

Mikanga converted Felix Otieno’s second-half try to see Kisumu go 19-5 up before Steve Odhiambo’s converted try and Phares Mbadi’s late try brought Nondies to within two points of Kisumu, two points too little as the full-time whistle soon sounded.
