Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Linkedin Share on Tumblr If you’ve been following the story of Madaraka Festival all these years, you will agree with me why it’s such a big deal, both locally and in the diaspora where it has been held since its first curation 4 years ago! After all these four editions of the festival in the diaspora, Madaraka Festival will on August 3rd 2019 bring musicians, creatives, and fans to the Lakeside City of Kisumu to debut for the first time in an African country, away from its traditional venue at the prestigious Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle, Washington DC. Top Headline Acts Various top Kenyan artists are expected to headline this festival. Comedian Eric Omondi will be hosting the event alongside MC Mbom and MC Jakakamega while DJs Kriss Darlin and Suraj will be on the decks. Khaligraph Jones will also be performing as well as other musicians including the likes of Musa Jakadala, Nazizi, Karun, Nairobi Horns Project, Nafsi Huru and Bensoul. I tell you, this is a family musical event that you don’t want to miss. There will be a play arcade set aside for the young ones; lots of food and merchandise to buy and take home with you, and a splendid view of the city from the other side of the lake: all for you to take in and enjoy. There will also be Mazzi & Soul Purpose, representing the international community who will be in line to entertain the eager Kenyan hosts. Kisumu’s all-boys-band The CBK Music will also be entertaining the music aficionados at the festival. They will also be using the festival to launch their new hot music album they’ve been working on at One Vibe Studios.
