Bolt, formerly Taxify has today launched in the lakeside city of Kisumu, Kakamega and Thika towns.

It previously operated in Nairobi and Mombasa as Taxify. They rebranded and relaunched in Nairobi as Bolt this past April.

They now join the crowded taxi-hailing apps available for use in this lakeside city.

Bolt has in its portfolio Taxis, Bodabodas and Tuktuks to choose from.

Other companies providing taxi hailing apps/services are: Safaricom backed Little, Tumefika Cabs, Fone Taxi.

Bolt CEO at the expansion launch

The launch in Kisumu of Bolt becomes its third coverage area apart from Mombasa and Nairobi. They’ve also launched in Kakamega and Thika, bringing its operational areas to five.

Bolt expansion in these three major urban centres in Kenya sets the stage for its continued push to expand its market footprint within and across the country.
