The residents of Riat Hills, the leafy suburbs of Kisumu, and the neighbouring environs are finally going to smile all the way to their taps.

In a major water distribution venture-backed up by development partners, the neighbourhood will next week witness the launch of this water connection scheme.

Riat Hills as you may all now have known, sits on the sprawling hills interconnected with Nandi and Kajulu hills has never had piped water networks since people started staying in this upmarket locality. The surrounding areas will be getting their water from the Kajulu water plant.

All the homes and even commercial developments like hospitals and the hotels dotting this area usually depended on their own borehole waters or rainwater tapped into tanks for their household uses.

The launch to be presided over by the Kisumu County Governor will also provide the opportunity for those interested to tap into this scarce resource register and sign up for a connection of water to their homes and or businesses.

In the course of next week, there will also be a number of activities going on in various estates of Kisumu City as the water and sanitation company launches a number of activities that sets the stage to its renewed #RefreshLife slogan.

Keep it here for updates as this development happens.
