The United Cities and Local Governments of Africa Secretary-General Mr. Jean Pierre Elong Mbassi today morning arrived in Kisumu County for a two-day visit and fact-finding mission ahead of the Africities Conference to be held here in November 2021.

Accompanying him was Kisumu County Governor Prof. Anyang’ Nyong’o and Tourism and Culture Minister Achie Alai.

Kisumu County won the bid last year to host the ninth edition of Africities Summit which is a United Cities and Local Governments of Africa’s flagship pan-African event that is held every three years in one of the five regions of Africa.

The summit will gather communities and local authorities in African countries, as well as financial institutions, civil society groups, and development partners at continental and international levels.
