Kisumu City last evening played host to the launch of the new KIBO K250 motor bike.
The motorcycle which is the second generation of the Kibo Africa product line coming after the Kibo 150 is wholly assembled in Kenya.
Kibo Africa is keeping with the President Uhuru Kenyatta’s big four agenda on manufacturing, has been manufacturing these high end motorcycles in Kenya since 2016.
Speaking at the function Kakamega Governor – H.E Wycliffe Oparanya and also the chairman of the council of Governors who was the launch’s chief guest in his remarks noted that the motorbike will have access to a population of over 14 million people across the wider Lake Region Economic Bloc which he also chairs.
Kisumu Governor Prof. Anyang’ Nyong’o on his part noted that the sturdiness of this machine will make it ideal for government use by extension and field officers.
He went on and encouraged Kibo Africa to consider setting up an assembling plant in Kisumu to help create employment and technology transfer. Sentiments that were echoed by his deputy Dr. Ochieng’ Owili.
Accompanying the Governor were members of his cabinet and a host of county officials.
