Bitcoin Workshop in Kisumu with Torsten Kremser

Published

on

This Friday, a world renowned Blockchain Evangelist, Shaper and Social Entrepreneur, one Torsten Kremser will be talking in Kisumu’s East View Hotel about Bitcoin and the Blockchain technology.

Bitcoin is a cryptocurrency, a form of electronic cash. It is a decentralized digital currency without a central bank or single administrator that can be sent from user-to-user on the peer-to-peer bitcoin network without the need for intermediaries.

Bitcoin uses peer-to-peer technology to operate with no central authority or banks; managing transactions and the issuing of bitcoins is carried out collectively by the network. Bitcoin is open-source; its design is public, nobody owns or controls Bitcoin and everyone can take part.

Through many of its unique properties, Bitcoin allows exciting uses that could not be covered by any previous payment system.

So, Rotaract Club of Kisumu is inviting you for engagement during this day, and get an opportunity to learn about this concurrency and the block-chain technology, that is meant to revolutionize and as well connect every business and every sphere of life world over.

You are all invited.

Event Invite: Safe Spaces for Girls and Women Online

Published

on

In line with Goal 11 of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, this year’s theme is “Safe Spaces for Youth”. These safe spaces include civic spaces for governance interactions, public spaces for leisure and sports, and digital spaces for cross-border virtual interactions.

Unlike every kind of space that enables youth engagement, safe spaces add a layer of safety, non-violence and non-marginalisation devoid of bias. In Africa, several safe spaces already exist but not enough are digital; online.

But in these times, digital safe spaces have become as — or even more — important than their physical counterparts in Africa. But why digital safe spaces?

We are therefore calling on all young women and girls for this networking discussion session on either December 20 or 21, 2018 for a two-hour talk from 3-5pm.
