Most restaurants in Kisumu don’t offer outside catering services. Thus, this new addition to Roan’s services will fill this gap of professional outside catering services, and also build onto the reputation they have built with the yuppies (young urban professionals) who throng the restaurant throughout the week.

Have a taste and feel of Roan’s catering prowess this weekend at the Mamboleo showground at the onset of the rugby match between Kisumu RFC vs Moi University. Roan Rooftop is proudly associated with KRFC, and is kindly requesting you to come out in numbers to support this team. Roan will have a bar, BBQ and pizza kitchen on site; you are all welcome their stand. The restaurant’s DJ Phrank will also be there to entertain you.

The restaurant situated atop Anyange Plaza along Oginga Odinga street is notably known for its mouthwatering fish delicacies and specialities from both the seawater’s and the world famous Lake Victoria. Crabs, octopus among other seafoods can be easily ordered here to your taste.

The week will also not pass without the “Kamongo Thursday’s” also going down. Kamongo is cat fish, mostly harvested from Lake Victoria.

If you’re a fish lover, then this is the definite lunch/dinner spot for you and your friends.

Event Invite: Safe Spaces for Girls and Women Online

Published

on

In line with Goal 11 of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, this year’s theme is “Safe Spaces for Youth”. These safe spaces include civic spaces for governance interactions, public spaces for leisure and sports, and digital spaces for cross-border virtual interactions.

Unlike every kind of space that enables youth engagement, safe spaces add a layer of safety, non-violence and non-marginalisation devoid of bias. In Africa, several safe spaces already exist but not enough are digital; online.

But in these times, digital safe spaces have become as — or even more — important than their physical counterparts in Africa. But why digital safe spaces?

We are therefore calling on all young women and girls for this networking discussion session on either December 20 or 21, 2018 for a two-hour talk from 3-5pm.
