Video: Lupita Sends Accolades to Her Dad Prof Nyong’o Ahead of Kisumu ODM Primaries this Monday

43views

Lupita is not new to Kisumu and even to the Kenyan scene. The Hollywood-based actress and beauty queen had some words of hope and encouragement to her dad (Prof Nyong’o) who is currently the Kisumu Senator, even as he ventures into the gubernatorial contest this coming Monday in the ODM Primaries for Kisumu County.

Yesterday, the celebrated movie star, and also an Oscar winner, posted the video to her fans on her Facebook Page vouching for the Kisumu electorate to vote for her dad in the upcoming party nominations as he prepares for the contest as the Kisumu County governor in this August Kenya General Election.

She begins the video below with the words:

“This is an open letter to my father.”

“Daddy, I love you and I respect you. You have supported me all my life and I’m where I am because of you and mummy,” she says, before talking about how her dad inspired her and her siblings to be “hardworking, honest and committed to humanity.”

“All my life, I have witnessed your unwavering passion for creating a better Kenya, even when it was a thankless task,” she said.

“If there was anything you have taught me, that I have learned from you, it’s to never let a dream die on the vine,” she said. “You have dreamed for a brighter future for Kisumu County. May you get the opportunity to see that dream bear fruit.” she adds.

Lupita also mentions bringing Vogue to her hometown last year for a cover shoot for the magazine’s October 2016 issue.

She also talks about her dad going to make Kisumu the center of excellence for arts and culture.
