Dr Ida Odinga this afternoon paid a courtesy call to the County Government of Kisumu, of which she was welcomed by the First Lady Her Excellency Olivia Ranguma.
Dr Odinga will be the chief guest during the event to launch KShs 17.5 million Livestock Development “Ngima gi Dak Maber” Project tomorrow at the ASK Showground, Mamboleo.
This project will see over 2,000 small scale farmers (350 women groups drawn from all our seven sub counties) benefit from 81 dairy cows, 70 dairy goats, 10,500 improved local chicken, 35 galla bucks, 35 doper rams and 150 bee hives to improve their livestock production.
The initiative is meant to improve family food security and nutritional status, generate income for farm families, elevate community livelihood to attain self-sufficiency in livestock products and to create employment through intensive production and value addition.
