Team Acacia Premier Kisumu to participate in the 2016 Mater Heart Run

#materheartrun2016. Are you ready to ”Touch a Child’s Heart”?

To date since 1996, more than 3,093 children have been treated either by surgery or interventional cardiac catheterization by the Mater Cardiac Program. The Mater Hospital first embraced the Paediatric Cardiac Program in 1994 after it relocated from Gertrude Gardens Children’s Hospital. A victory was scored by the Kenyan doctors in 1995 when they did their first ‘closed’ heart surgery. The Mater ‘open’ heart surgeries started in 1996. Dr. Christine Jowi, the lead Paediatric Cardiologist, says:

“The program has grown from 20 open hearts annually to 200 cases a year”.

The majority are Kenyan children; however children from Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Malawi and Zambia have also been treated.

Acacia Premier Hotel is setting the pace for corporate organizations in the city by participating in events as thus, that has the human side.

Acacia team of staff will be the corporate group to watch this year.

Being the home of African hospitality, the Acacia hotel is setting the standards of how corporate organizations need to interact and participate in humanity centered causes.

The Mater Heart Run is one of the most recognised and noble annual event in the Kenyan Calendar. Kenyans from all walks of life come together to support the cause.
