VPN’s saves the day in Uganda Elections

Seems online is the new battlefield in waging communication wars.

With the advent of technology, developers have taken it into their strides to develop softwares, and applications to make communication efficient, secure, and widely available.

VPN 101

A virtual private network (VPN) extends a private network across a public network, such as the Internet. It enables users to send and receive data across shared or public networks as if their computing devices were directly connected to the private network, and thus are benefiting from the functionality, security and management policies of the private network.Β A VPN is created by establishing a virtual point-to-pointΒ point connection through the use of dedicated connections, virtual-tunnelling protocols, or traffic encryption.

Even Kenyan journos who were covering the election event in Uganda were not left behind.

And then Ugandans from all over the banana country jumped in, some with memes.

Jokes aside:

And even people from all over the world came on board, including the US Embassy Uganda:

………… and some advice to Kenyan’s to prepare for the 2017 elections:
