Mashemeji Derby May be hosted in Kisumu City this weekend

Gor Mahia FC versus their arch rivals AFC Leopards will be played on Sunday 23rd of August.

Gor was set to host AFC Leopards on Sunday 23 but the match was moved to a day before as the match venue, Nyayo National Stadium has been booked for another event on Sunday.

It is alleged that the league’s official broadcaster SuperSport rejected Gor Mahia’s request to change the date venue hence forcing the match back to its former date.

The first leg pitting the two sides ended in a one-all draw and K’Ogallo will be looking to make a statement of their excellent run in the league and take advantage of their rivals’ numerous off the field issues.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that Gor Mahia might move the match to their ceremonial home, Kisumu City.
