It is now being alleged that there was a match fixing in the Sunday’s clash between Gor Mahia of Kenya and AZAM of Tanzania during the CECAFA Kagame Cup Finals in the National Stadium Tanzania.
Rumor has it that a day before the match, senior AZAM officials allegedly met top Gor Mahia officials in a Nairobi Hotel where they allegedly gave them an offer to concede the match.
AZAM is Tanzania’s richest club and it is often referred to as the Chelsea of TZ. All they want is pride and not money. The match came as Gor Mahia struggles to get itself out of its financial debacle.
There were incidences that left everyone especially the Kogalo fans with endless questions. For instance, Gor’s midfield maestro Khalid Aucho would have been red carded two times and seemed to deliberately commit red card offenses deliberately several times during the match.
Another reason to believe there was a match fixing is the manner in which the Kogalo goalie conceded very easy goals without showing any effort to block the baby shots.
